"Do you want to show great
birds, or do you want to fly great birds? You can not do both
successfully." |

Some of you know me, but most of you do not.
Since I have purchased birds from a few of you, and in the game, I
feel I can offer my opinion. And it is just that, my opinion.
I am the new kid on the block, but I am 50 years
old and have been in pigeon clubs in the past. I no longer participate in
clubs. And, all of you know why. The first thing ALL of us must do is to determine what
we want from these extraordinary birds. Do
you want to show great birds, or do you want to fly great birds? You can
not do both successfully. At best you
will only be average at either one. If you are going to be in a
club, you must be willing and able to put up with the games and politics.
If you can play, you can stay. And the guy that knows how to play the best....
WINS!
As a former Roller flyer, the
performance flyer is what I want, and look for. If it can play it can
stay, if it can't I dispose of it. I know what I want and I will achieve
my goals or I will dispose of every bird I have. I bought birds from Sam
Damommio
because he turned me on to flights and I liked the way his birds
performed. I bought birds from Ralph
White
because I liked the way his birds look. I bought birds from Len
Treviranus
because his video was impressive. I will breed these birds and fly them,
and the ones that play the game the best wins. The others are
history. I would never sale a bad bird just to clean out my loft. And
shame on you if you have. If you have a weak bird, have the guts to
dispose of it.
As for the web site. When I started looking
for flying flights the information was scarce. Not so scarce for show
flights. When I found the web site I was really excited. However I noticed
there were show breeders and flying breeders. The two are like oil
and water. They will never agree. The show people think the flyers are a
bunch of rednecks and the flyers think the show people are boring. Maybe
we should have two web sites. This argument has been going on for
years in the roller world. But the flyers have a home and the show birds
have a home. The
Flying Flight web site must continue.
Please do not take this in a negative
way. I mean no disrespect and I am not passing judgment on any other
person. I just love to raise Flying Flights and would like to see everyone
enjoy them as I do. I look forward to conversing with all of you.
Thank you for your emails, your time, and your correspondence.
